The two hit it off fairly good and a bromance emerges. Straight!? is a coming-of-age tale that follows the main character, Zack, from his first day of college after meeting his new straight roommate, Braden. The final vision is to create a new genre of visual novel called the “cinematic visual novel” where the game will focus on cinematic camera shots to convey the emotional story as opposed to the traditional sprite-based format. The game's visual and writing quality does slowly improve as the story unfolds. Since the game is still in development, this is considered a rough draft and very pre-alpha. It is primarily created by one dev, working in tandem with a small team of friends to help support his first project. It is free-to-play and is funded solely from donations to the project through sources like itch.io or Patreon. The game also has no chat of any kind and the friendlist only exists for using other players' units.Straight!? is a work in progress visual novel that specifically focuses on NSFW male/male content. In Housamo you have really nothing but puzzle styled combat. Like making cute/wholesome pictures or extremely suggestive ones, haha.Īnd at least Gyee has some variety in content even if a lot of it is boring (to me anyway). I like how you can mess around with the characters in the "My guild" section though. We also can't really interact with the characters in any way except just switch around their outfits (which again, we only get to see during battles and character info tab), or listen to their voice lines. For example during battles we actually get to see our characters battle, instead of just their avatar (unless you use their charge skill). It has a really good translation too.Ĭomparing to Gyee though, I guess there are few things that Gyee did better. Also a huge chunk of them are furries, so I can understand why some people don't care for them. Though lot of the units are just different rarities/variants of the same character. There's so many units in it with various body types. I really like Tokyo Afterschool summoners myself. The amount you get too from buying currency with money is kind of low yield (kind of stingy with what you actually get from white dragonscale). The Guild missions while easy are kind of strange, and I wish we could build points from week to week - I think we have a pretty busy guild but our guild level is advancing at a glacial pace. Arena takes forever for me and is just like Oathblades, matching is weird and it is laggy and time consuming. Some things like Flux Shock need to either be phased for yourself since I can never fight enough bosses or minions since the competition is steep and the time is limited. Speed up needs one more speed up to be even more efficient, in my opinion. other cat person scenario), but I guess that innuendo is cheeky fun for those of us in the know.ĭefinitely some clunk, like how you can't switch off computer controlled combat until you're in the fight and the first one OR two characters goes off without control. very suggestive hah hah (like the Lin Hu vs. Story is, fine, and I do like how the GYEE struggle mirrors the LGBTQ prejudice experience and how our characters are trying to overcome it. Also don't really like the kiddos - I have relegated them to my character screen and never use them. I'm also very taken by how this is a game designed for gay and queer people, which I've still never experienced first hand - a game unabashedly designed to appeal to me as a gaymer? And also, Bara/Furry overtones too? That's pretty cool. The character designs are cute, but I also hit 42-43 and I no longer really feel like my team is 'strong,' also the sheer amount of materials needed for getting them to the next runes and weapons seems very steep (which is quite JRPG/gacha so I shouldn't be surprised). Some things like Oathblades are so dull that I don't look forwards to the 10 minutes of clicking for meh rewards.

That's not as present in GYEE, though I do Arcana tower in the background, and can roll Darkflux in the background, but otherwise it's a lot of slow clicking, skipping dialogue. I'm not terribly excited about the dailies - I play Langrisser already and that takes a lot of my direct play time (it's pretty easy to do some auto stuff for that game).
